About Aaron

(He/Him/His)

Born in South Korea, raised in rural Ohio, Aaron has always had a deep love of all things arts related. From reenacting his favorite movies, creating elaborate cardboard forts, and drawing imaginary characters, it’s no surprise that his performing and artistic endeavors continued into adulthood.

Growing up in rural Ohio had many challenges. As one of the only Asian kids in the area, Aaron was an easy target for bullying. Because of this, he would spend hours pretending to be different characters from books and movies or sketching imaginary worlds and scenarios. It was his way of escaping the intense depression that the bullying caused. His favorite roles to reenact were those from the old Hollywood musicals (i.e. Singing in the Rain, Kiss Me Kate, Babes in Toyland). His artistic side would also continue to grow as he’d expand from simple sketches to more elaborate drawings, paintings and other art projects.

Once he hit middle school, he started shifting from the one-man musicals in his bedroom to performing in local community theaters. Though the bullying continued well into high school, theatre and performing had become more than just a coping mechanism, but also something that he felt he could do and do well. Through this point, he became hyper focused on performing, which meant his other artistic endeavors took a backseat for a while.

Aaron went on to graduate from the Capital University Conservatory of Music with dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music (vocal performance emphasis) and Theatre (acting & directing emphasis).

Past college, he would go on to perform all over the United States at various regional theaters, continuing to learn and grow. Somewhere along the way, his love of drawing and painting reemerged. And with advances in technology (thank you Apple iPad), Aaron was then able to expand into digital illustration.

More recently, he has expanded his performing talents to on screen. Currently a number of national commercials, a music video and some other projects.

Aaron is represented by Stewart Talent Chicago.
